In this video Hilary Clinton talks about how she agrees with most Americans to bring thier loved ones back home from Iraq. This one thing that people hope Hilary will do as president. In the video Hilary is saying that as soon as she is president the first thing she will do is bring our troops back to where they belong. Whereas there are other reports that Hilary might not bring the war in Iraq to an end. So this is one thing that Americans are not sure that Hilary will do, and this might cause Hilary to lose many votes

Women's Political Role
Women generally were looked down upon through out most of history. They have had fewer legal rights, couldn't own property, and didn't have many career opportunities as men. It was either motherhood or wifehood that was their profession. Then, came the 20th century, in which women began to advance in their educational and job opportunities and even won the right to vote. The 19th amendment allowed women to vote and changed most people's views on their place in society and most importantly led the way for women in politics.
Even though women had the right to vote since 1920, their political roles were kept to a minimal. People, especially men back in the day didn't like the idea of women talking and taking part in political issues because they thought they were useless, except for domestic problems. Frances Perkins was the first woman Cabinet member as secretary of labor under President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Since then, women have come a long way, that now Hillary Rodham Clinton is running for president.

Women's Protest

In this picture the women's are holding signs and boards saying "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH YOU IGNORANT MEN!" and the other one is saying "THERE IS NO COLOR,RACE,OR RELIGION IN OUR OBJECTIONS ALL WOMEN MUST SPEAK OUT" meaning it doesn't matter what or who you are all women's opinion should be asked and it does matter of what they think. Don't be sacred but speak out and say what you think is right rather then staying quite and suffering everything. All the men who think they are right just stop it, because the women also have a right to say what they want and express their feelings.

This cartoon is showing Hilary Clinton. It is saying that Hilary is twisted with war. it shows her playing twister with war. She is trying to put her legs and arms everywhere she can. The dots on the twisterboard say more troops, anti invasion, pro war and pro troos. The dots that Hilary has his hands or legs are on semi- war and anti- war. This cartoon is saying that she is not with war and semi-war.

Should Women Feel Obligated To Vote For Hillary?
By watching this video, it tells us that some women will vote for Hillary just because she is a woman. They base their vote just on her gender. What about what she will do for the people, such as the health benefits she promises or what if Barack Obama has better benefits for the people? Some just don't care, they see that she's a woman who has good intentions and decide to give her their vote. Then there are others who have been waiting for a woman to run for presidency for a long time, but they say she isn't the type of woman they were waiting for and rather give their vote to another candidate they would prefer.
Many women have now followed Oprah Winfrey's footsteps. She said " I am a free woman and being a free woman, I can think and decide for myself". Women at a campaign rally criticized her statement by saying "she is a traitor to her gender". As we all know, Oprah is on Obama's campaign; Oprah and Michelle Obama went campaigning recently along with some of the Kennedy's in Iowa. This is one of Obama's strategies to get women to vote for him. He is using this strategy because he knows that a lot women will vote without a doubt for Mrs.Clinton. - Rabie

Womens Running for President

During the 1960's, through the 20th century women have been running for presidency there were two groups, the first one was Women in Primaries and the other one was Women in General Election. The Primaries were made up of two different groups, which were the Republican and the Democrat. In the early years, women mostly ran in the General Election. During these years listed in the chart, the number of women running increased but then decreased again because no women had ever won and became president. The highest number of women to run for presidents were 9 and that was in 2004 for the Democrats. - Sabeen
